Artist book of handmade envelopes and digital monoprints.
I designed this book while studying papermaking, printmaking & book arts with Helen Frederick. I merged intaglio and monoprints together digitally, laser printed them, and inserted them into artist-made abaca envelopes (look closely for watermarks corresponding to my family tree!)
Determining the prompt for this book was a two-step process:
Draw two objects out of a grab bag filled with odds and ends
With those objects in mind, pose a question to answer in the book.
I drew out of the bag a two of spades and a plastic shower cap. The question I decided to answer was, “When were things easy?"
